Secondary Virginity

What do you mean by "secondary virginity"?  Secondary virginity is just what it says.  A second chance at virginity.  Some people define virginity as a purely physical condition.  You either are or you're not a virgin.  But secondary virginity goes beyond that and looks at the purity not only of the body, but also of the mind and the spirit.  It's true that once you have had sex you can't undo it, but you can start over.  You can make a decision to stop having sex until you are in a long-term mutually monogamous relationship (marriage).  Abstinence is the thinking persons choice that protects you from pregnancy, disease, emotional pain and is 100% effective every time you practice it.  In making a commitment to secondary virginity you have made a commitment to yourself, your health, your future spouse and your life.  It is not the easiest choice, but it is the most rewarding.

Counseling

Abstinence counseling is available to teens, singles and parents.  Realistic and simple guidelines are provided to help you practice abstinence confidently.  Counselors are available to talk to you about setting physical limits, dating situations, refusal skills, self esteem issues and answer any questions you may have about health risks, unplanned pregnancy or any other concerns.  Counseling is free and available by appointment.

TLC

Teaching, Loving & Caring is our program available to clients who have made the decision to abstain from sexual activity.  Points are earned through participation in counseling sessions, Bible studies, videos, church activities, and our peer support group P.A.S.S.  Points can be used to purchase items such as gift certificates, fast food, etc.  It's our way of rewarding our clients for making smart choices for themselves and their futures.

Support Group

Passionate About Saving Sex (PASS) is our abstinence peer support group.  Participation in this group not only earns TLC points, but is also a way to be accountable for your decision to abstain from sexual activity.  When you are able to talk with others who are struggling with the same issues and succeeding in their commitment to wait, it is encouraging and strengthening.  Knowing you are not alone is a key to staying focused.  Meetings are weekly and recognition is given to those who remain committed to abstinence.   There are periodic special events and fun activities for participants.

Be the One

Be the One is an interactive instructional program for teens, parents and educators.  Approved by the Hillsborough County School Board through SERVE, this program is available to public and private schools as well as church and civic groups.  Separate presentations are made to Middle and High School students.  Specialized training for parents and educators is also available.  Topics include:  Relationships, Love vs. Infatuation, Drawing the Line Physically, STD's, Friendship and Dating, Reasons/Risks/Results of Sexual Activity.  Progression of Sexual Feelings and Levels of Intimacy.
